SUBJECT:

TELECON SUttiARY REGARDING MIDLAND SCHEDULE DELAY Messrs. G. Keeley, R. Bownan and J. Zabritski of Consumers Power Company called on November 26, 1979, 9:00 AM to inform me of their recent press release regarding schedules delays for Midland Plant, Units 1 & 2.

The applicant is preparing Schedule Forecast #6 and will complete this forecast in January 1980.

Preliminary results indicate revised fuel load dates of at'obt Mid-1983 for Unit 2 and 5 months thereafter for Unit 1.

The delay was said to be based upon increased quantities for electrical cabling and small piping, and upon projected changes for THI-2 and open licensing issues.

The applicants previous estimates were June 1981 for Unit 2 and November 1981 for Unit 1.

The revised dates cccor';after the latest dates for construction completion specified in the staff's order of November 17, 1979 extending completion dates to October 1,1982 and October 1,1981 for Units 1 & 2, respectively.
