s PCWER SYSTEMS BRMCH LIST OF OPEN ITEMS FOR MIDLMD PLMT, (JNITS 1 & 2 1.
Lot 2 Sequencer The use of a single load sequencer for the connection of emergency safety feetures loads to the emergency buses when power is being supplied either from offsite or from the diesel generators may vio' ate GDC 17 because of the potential to compronise the indepen-dence between onsite and offsite power sources. The applicant has been infonned about this and an acceptable respor.se to oar request 040.112 is necessary for res'olution of this itern.

Confomance to R.G.1.108 The applicant presented a alternative design to meet the reconinenda-tions of Regulatory Guide 1.108 positions C.2.a(3), C.2.a(4) antC.2.a(6). We have infomed the applicant that this is unacceptable and we require full conformance to these positions.
The applicant will be required to meet the requirenents of these positions of Regula-tory Guide 1.108'o'r provide staff appieved alternatives.

Diesel Generator Buildina Settlement BecaJse of scme settlement of the diesel generator building the design of the. diesel generator fuel oil lines located under the diesel generator building should be able to withstand the effects 1
i
, i of settlement. Also we are concerned about the methods used for monitoring this condition.
4.
Main Steamline Valves As explained in issue No. I of NUREG-0130, valves dcwnstream of the MSLIV could affect the limitation of the blowdown of a second steam generator in the event of a steam line break upstream of the El'V.
The design of Midland I and 2 includes valves for isolation and routing of steam to the Dow Chemical process steam evaporators. Our concerns are related to the satisfactory coeration of these valves and also for valves in the various flow paths of Unit 2 (those valves do not have main steam block valves before the turbine stop valves directly in series after tre MSLIV's) that branch off between the M5 LIV's and turbine stop valves.
