ADVANCED STANDARD PLANT REVIEWS l

I asked the staff to give me their preliminary response:to several questions that bear on resources applied to the review of advanced standard plant reviews.

I asked the staff.to identify (1) the resources currently being allocated across the various designs, (2) additional near term needs to assure early review feedback to industry, and (3) programs that may be impacted by applying equal resources to each review.

The staff has responded with tne enclosed estimates which I am forwarding for your information.

In accord with SECY 90-065, a more detailed paper will be provided in the near future.
