( i SOUND SYSTEM In connection with attempts to improve the Commission Conference Room Sound System, several differing types of microphones will be tested at Commission meetings in the near-future.
A test of lavaliere (lapel) microphones which NRC already owns will be conducted at the Generic Issues Commission Meeting on April 3, 1991, provided there are no objections.
The Division of Contracts has been requested to obtain pricing quotes from several vendors for testing radio -(no cord) and unidirectional type microphones.
Upon receipt of this information further action will be evaluated and discussed with you.

2 types of microphones to be temporarily installed and demonserated in-the Commissioners Bearing Room. ' OWFN.

Each demon 3tration will~ consist of 12 microphones.
Each i
type of microphone demonstrated will have to km-interfact with existing public address capabilities such as press and steno feeds, tape record and playback interfaces, ano agency broadband system.
As part of this RFQ, each system has to be temporarily installed'and demonstrated during 2 Commission meetings.
If equalisation has to be performed for any of the_ demonstrations, the current system must be r u urned to its original settings by the contractor performing the demonstration. 'The microphone characteristics are as follows:
1 Demonstration 1:
Provide _and demoastrate 12 wireless microphones trans-mitters, receivers on desk stands. Each microphone is to have a locking on/off switch and be able to be removed from stand to be used as hand held microphone.
Demonstration 2:
Provide and demonstrate 12 unidirectional microphones on a flexible shaf t with locking on/off switch with visual-indicator of on/off mode.
Each microphone is to be mounted on a desk stand for table use.
