Dear Mr. Haynes:

This letter provides notification of reportable occurrence 82-016, required to be submitted within one working day following the event pursuant to the require-ments of Millstone Unit 2 Appendix A Technical Specifications paragraphs 6.9.2.g.

and 3.7.9.1.b.

With the plant at 100% power a fire main break occurred at 11:38 on the Unit 3 construction site. This resulted in both fire water storage tanks' levels decreasing below the 200,000 gallon minimum required by Technical Specification limiting condition for operation paragraph 3.7.9.1.b. Level decreased to approximately 60% or 150,000 gallons in each tank before the break was isolated. The break was isolated at 11:55 and at 12:28 the fire water storage tanks were restored to the 200,000 gallon minimum requirement.
