Dear Mr. Boyd:
Enclosed are fifteen (15) copies of Amendment O to B&W's Standard Safety Analysis Report, B-SAR-205.
Amendment 0 contains the additional acceptance review information which B&W has agreed to submit by February 13, 1976, in accordance with the schedule in your January 23 letter.
As stated in attachments to your January 23 letter, the response to Question 212.1 includes operations sequence analyses for the LOCA items only. A portion of the material submitted has already been informally reviewed by the NRC Staff, and the LOCA items will be revised to reflect the Staff's informal comments in the next amendment. A schedule for submittal of the remaining items will be developed in discussions with the NE Staff.
Amendment 0 also includes the following additional material, as described below:
1.
The NSS/ BOP interface criteria sections in B-SAR-205 have been expanded and revised in format to reflect the suggestions of the NRC Staff, and to comply with the format and content recommendations being developed by the AIF Ad Hoc Committee on Interface Criteria.
2.
The discussion in Chapter 9 of the B-SAR-205 has also been-expanded to include the basis for deleting the manual isolation valves in the decay heat drop (suction) lines outside the containment.

The Steam Generator Circulation System described in Section 10.4 of B-SAR-205 is being deleted in Amendment O.
This is a non-safety related system listed as part of the standard NSS scope of design in WASH-1341, " Programmatic Information for the Licensing of Standardized Nuclear Power Plant," Rev. 1.
We have determined that this system is no longer required, since its function can be performed with the conventional steam and' power conversion system equipment, using procedures stnilar to those employed on B&W's 177 fuel assembly nuclear steam systems.

In Chapter 9, the new and spent fuel storage' racks have been included in the B-SAR-205 base scope of design. The storage racks were originally listed as optional items of equipment. This change is in response to the recommendations of the NRC Staff.
The attachments to this letter include additional information for Sections 11.1.3 and 11.1.4 of B-SAR-205.
For printing schedule reasons this material is being submitted at this time as a letter supplement to Amendment 0; it will be incorporated in the B-SAR text in docket copies of B-SAR-205.
Instructions for incorporating the revised material into.the B-SAR-205 are included in the amendment.
