Dear Mr. Boyd:
In accordance with 10 CFR Section 50.30, B&W submits herewith seventy-three (73) docket copies of the B&W Standard Safety Analysis Report B-SAR-205, including three (3) signed original copies. These copies are identified as Revision 0.
The copies submitted herewith consist of infor=ation originally sub-mitted for acceptance on October 23, 1975, revised and amended to include e
additional infor=ation requested by the Staff as the result of their accept-
's ance review. The pre-docket infor=ation requested by the Staff as a result of their acceptance review is identified as those questions contained in to the letter annot.ncement issued by Mr. T. H. Cox of the Staff titled, " Sum =ary of Preacceptance Meeting on B-SAR-205", and dated January 15, 1976.
In accordance with agreements reached with the Staff at the preacceptance meeting held on January 8,1976, B&W may submit the results of failure = odes and ef fects analysis in the requested for=at at this time for LOCA events only.
Failure modes and effects analysis results for remaining events in Chapter 15 of the B-SAR-205 are to' be submitted in accordance with a schedule to be developed with the Staff after docketing. -Similarly, it was agreed that failure modes and ef fects analysis results for systems which are requested in questions 020.12 and 020.14 may be submitted at this ti=e in conventional table format, and revised to the chart format requested by the Staff on a schedule which will also be developed af ter docketing.
Additional agreements reached with the Staff at the preacceptance meeting were that B&W may submit responses to Enclosure 1 questions 212.8, 331.6, 020.2, 212.9 (Part C), and 212.10 (Parts 2-7), at the same time that responses are submitted for Enclosure 2 questions. Responses to Enclosure 2 questions are scheduled for submittal within five weeks af ter docketing of the B-SAR-205.

's Mr. Roger S. Boyd 2-5-SAR-205 documents the design of the Babcock-205 standard nuclear steam system.
The major design features of the Babcock-205 are the same as previously reviewed B&W 205 fuel assembly nuclear steam systems.
Analysis in the B-SAR-205 supports licensed core power levels up to 3800 MWt.
Construction permit applications for either 3800 MWt or 3600 MWt will reference B-SAR-205 in accordance with the provisions of Appendix 0.
We anticipate the previous reviews of B&W 205 fuel assembly nuclear steam systems will allow a prompt review schedule for the B-SAR-205.
B&W will support such an expedited review schedule so the benefits of licensing standardization may be quickly realized.
