Confirmation cf Agreement Concerning Format for System Operating Sequence Diagrams
Dear Mr. Boyd:
This will confirm B6W's agreement to utili::e the following format rules for system operating sequence diagrams:
l.
The assumed operational state of the plant will be identified on the charts.
The operating modes used will be:
a.
power operation, b.
hot standby where the plant is shut down with decay heat being removed via the steam generators, c.
cold shutdown where the plant is shut down with decay heat being removed via the decay heat removal system, and d.
refueling.
4 2.
Hexagons will be labelled " safety actions."
3.
Rectangular blocks will represent systems or components.'
4.
The logic in going from containment isolation to long-term core cooling will be explained.
5.
On future drawings, the descriptions in the rectangular blocks will be limited to system names.

Boyd 2-March 8, 1976 It is understood that the format previously submitted for cor*e cooling on the Davis'Besse application is preferred by NRC, but that the modified format used to describe operating sequences submitted as Figures 15.1.13-1, 2 and 3 with Revision 0 to B-SAR-203 will be acceptable, subject to the above agreements.
