On February 29,1980, a R1V inspector at STP reported that he had been infomed by the HL6P Site QA Supervisor of alleged improprieties in the use of velding electrode at STP.

Individual "A",g
, called Mr. D. Barkar of HL6P on February 26, 1980,. and stated that there vas collusion between brown
& Root and Murex (electrode tr.anuf acturer) related to the use of veld electrode at STP that had been rejected at CPSES. The alleger stated thagvas fired because of% knowledge of the problem.. The electrode was apparently used for velding in the STP turbine generator building. No specific safety impli-cations were identified.
-HL6P is investigating this matter.
The RIV inspector vill attempt to obtain the alleger's address and telephone number.
