Dear Mr. Denton:

Attached are proposed changes to the McGuire Nuclear Station, Unit 1, Technical Specifications. These changes include the following items:

1. Revised setpoints and surveillance requirements to selected Engineered Safety Features Actuation System instrumentation.
2. Correction to measurement range of the Unit Vent Noble Gas Effluent Monitor.
3. Revised surveillance requirements for certain fire detection instrumentation.
4. Revised surveillance requirements for hydrogen cionitors.
5. Revision to listings of hydraulic and mechanical snubbers.
6. Revised response time and test current value for a circuit breaker.
7. Revised surveillance requirements for monitoring Chemical Treatment Pond radionuclide inventory.
8. Clarification to Special Test Program exceptions.

Each of these items has been reviewed and it has been determined that there are no adverse safety or environmental irpacts associated with the proposed

When the McGuire Technical Specifications were issued, the material on page 6-12 was incorrect. Apparently a printing or typing error was made in the original copy of the Technical Specifications. It is re-quested that this errer be corrected and a new page 6-12 be issued with the next amendment.

This proposed amendment is considered to be a Llass IV amendment pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22. Therefore, enclosed is a check in the amount of $12,300.
