CESSAR-F Amendment No. 4 2

Dear Mr. Miller:

Combustion Engineering, Inc. hereby submits for your review seventy (70) copies of Amendment No. 4 (non-proprietary) to CESSAR-F. This amendment provides Sections 6.2.1.5 and 6.3.3 which are affected by incorporation of the extended fuel cycle in Amendment No. 3 (Section 4.3). Major area., of change in this amendment are a new large break LOCA analysis incorporating extended fuel cycle parameters and a modification of the post-LOCA long term cooling section to discuss emergency procedure guidelines. Please note that the " References" section for 6.3.3.3 has been combined into those for Section 6.3.3.

A minor change to Section 15.D.4 (affected by the extended fuel cycle) will be incorporated in the revision of Chapter 15 presently being performed in response to RSB questions and will be provided in draft form by the end of July.

If we can be of any additional assistance, please feel free to contact either myself or Mr. G. A. Davis of my staff at (203)688-1911, Extension 2803.

Very truly yours, f COMBUSTION ENGINEERING, INC.
