June 22, 1981 United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Attn:

Mr. Thomas A. Novak, Assistant Director for Operating Reactors Division of Licensing Washington, DC 20555

Reference:

Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No. 1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Environmental Qualification of Safety Related Electrical Equipment Gentlemen:

We have conducted a review of our December 31, 1980, submittal and subsequent replies dated January 12, February 2, March 12 and April 28, 1981,

.n response to IE Bulletin 79-OlB and the documents and analysis upon which these submittals were based in light of the deficiencies noted in the Partial Review conducted by the NRC staff and forwarded by your letter dated June 9, 1981.

Based upon our review of each identified. deficiency which could have an adverse impact on safety, we have determined that none of the identified deficiencies will impair the continued safe operation of the Station. Those defic encies noted in the staff's review represent items which we believe were satisractorily covered in the original submittal either by test results o. justification.

We will provide an item-by-item reevaluation in a detailed documented manner as required by your June 9, 1981, letter.

Very truly yours, J. J. Carey Vice President, Nuclear 04$
