On Janua y 11,1985, Duquesne Light Company received Generic Letter 84-24 which reuested a certification of compliance to 10 CFR 50.49,
" Environmental lualification of Electric Equipment Important to Safety for Nuclear Power Piants."
This is to certify that:
(a)
Duquesne Light Company has implemented the requirements of 10 CFR 50.49, as detailed in our submittals on Equip-ment Qualification, for Beaver Valley Unit I within the established schedule except for an extension requested on December 14, 1984 and granted by NRC correspondence dated December 31, 1984. This extension (until November 30,1985) was requested in order to obtain additional docw.entation to fully establish qualifica-tion for Westinghouse motors associated with the 1A and 1B Low Head Safety Injection Pumps and the 1A, IB, and 1C Charging Pumps.

January 25, 1985 Beaver Valley Power Station, Unit No.1 Docket No. 50-334, License No. DPR-66 Generic Letter 84-24 Page 2 These certifications do not apply to Regulatory Guide 1.97 equipment that was not listed in our previous EQ submittals. The schedule for quali-fication of Regulatory Guide 1.97 equipment is not governed by 10 CFR 50.49(g), but rather will. be established in the Regulatory Guide 1.97 reso-lution-process.
NRC Confinnatory Order dated June 12, 1984 established a
-Regulatory Guide 1.97 submittal date of November 30, 1985 for Beaver Valley Unit 1.
.This also certifies that all IE Bulletins and Infonnation Notices that identify EQ problems are reviewed for their relevance to Beaver Valley Unit 1 and when applicable, are included in the EQ program.
