Docket No. 50-312 Rancho Seco Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No.1

Dear Mr. Reid:

Your Jane 3,1977 letter requested that we evaluate our onsite emergency power system with regard to degraded voltage conditions for offsite power and the interactions between the offsite and onsite emergency power systems. This v ek was performed and our July 19, 1977 submittal identified certain design work that was required to eliminate some basic problems.

Your June letter also requested that we modify our Technical Specifications to incorporate any necessary changes created by the design modifications.

In early August 1977, we informed Mr. 01shan of your organization that we would not be capable of preparing the modified Technical Specifications until the redesign work had been completed and indicated that it would take 6 to 9 months to perfonn this redesign work.

Mr. 01shan called our office on October 5,1977 and asked that we submit our schedule for the submittal of our Technical Specification and instal-lation of this plant modification in written form.

This information is provided below:

Plant modification design work to be completed by June 1, 1978 Modified Technical Specifications to be submitted o

by July 1, 1978 Plant modification to be completed during 1978 o

refueling period, currently scheduled to be completed by December 1, 1978 If you have any questions relative to this schedule, please contact us.

Sincerely yours,

'.&,% L.i
