AND 2, SPENT FUEL POOL COOLING ISSUE (TAC NO. M85337)

During the course of the staff's review of the issues raised in your November 27, 1992~ Part 21 report, the staff has received additional information from the licensee on certain specific technical issues.

In addition, the staff has examined supporting documents during visits to the licensee's headquarters and the Susquehanna site.

In order to help keep you abreast of the staff's ongoing review, we are continuing to provide copies of these documents to you.

On January 12,

1994, members of the Human Factors Branch staff visited the Susuquehanna site in order to walkdown various procedures for operation of the normal and alternative systems available for cooling the spent fuel pools.

Their visit was related to the performance of Action Item LC-6 of the staff's November 15, 1993 Task Action Plan.

Prior to the visit, Pennsylvania Power and Light Company (PP&L) provided copies of relevant procedures and related training material.

Enclosed with this letter are copies of the five packages of training material provided by PP&L.

The procedures themselves will. be forwarded to you under separate cover.
