Attachment 15 to the Part 21 report contained an internal PPSL review entitled "Review of Fuel Pool Coolihg During Postulated Off-Normal and Accidents Events."
Section 2.2 of the report stated "... it is indeterminate whether the FPC piping and equipment will be damaged by the hydrodynamic loads."
Please provide a summary of the design criteria for the piping and hangers for the spent fuel pool cooling system and service water system.
In addition, please summarize which loads (static, deadweight, etc.)
were considered in the design analysis of the spent fuel pool cooling system and service water system piping and hangers.
- Finally, summarize any additional analysis of the spent fuel pool cooling and service water piping and hangers that considered the effect of LOCA-induced hydrodynamic loads.
Please make available for staff review at the site or engineering offices.
the detailed calculations that support the above summaries.
2.
The Nay 24, 1993 PP&L submittal states that "Pre-operational test data from both units indicates that at least 5,700 gpm can be achieved through RHR in this [Fuel Pool Cooling Assist mode] configuration."
Attachment 16 to the 10 CFR Part 21 report contains an internal PPKL memo, PLI-72367, dated September 9,
1992, that states (on page
- 9) "A point to consider is that at SSES the RHR system has never been fully tested in the fuel pool cooling assist mode.
During the test program flow was established at about 2000 gpm.
Higher flows were not attained..."
Please provide descriptions of the preoperational tests including system lineups and initial conditions.
Please provide copies of the relevant data sheets with the results of the preoperational test data of the RHR system in the fuel pool cooling assist mode.
In addition to the above requested information, please make the detailed test procedure including system lineups, initial conditions and test data sheets available at the site for staff review.
