In order to keep you abreast of developments during the NRC staff's review of the above issue, we will provide you with copies of correspondence exchanged with the licensee on a continuing basis.

Enclosed are two partial documents (Enclosures 1

and

2) which were received by facsimile from the licensee.

The documents concern testing of the RHR system in the spent fuel pool cooling assist mode and the system model used by the licensee to evaluate the effect of hydrodynamic loads on spent fuel pool cooling and service water system piping.

The telecopied material has been placed in the public document room as well.

In addition, a copy of Pennsylvania Power and Light Company's (PPIIL) November 3,

1993 response to the staff's October 20, 1993 request for additional information is enclosed (Enclosure 3).

Finally, a copy of an October 30, 1993 letter from the staff to Les England of the BWR Owners Group is also enclosed (Enclosure 4).
