- RR-19-171 C-280 C.SWC- 2-I)CCO)1.4.6 Floor Mounting 1.4.6.1 Auxiliary Equipment Room, 289' Elevation Panels located in the Auxiliary Equipment Room are mounted on PGCC floor sections.
As shown in reference 5, sections similar to those at Limerick were tested to determine if there were any amplifications of accelerations to the panels. In-panel responses show that the floor sections actually attenuate the transmissibilty on the tested panels by as much as 10 percent. This is due to structural damping. The results presented in this report conservatively assume that the floor sections are rigid, and no credit is taken for the reduced transmissibility.
1A.6.2 Control Room, 269' Elevation.
Panels located in the control room (and C6 1-POO1) are bolted to a 4" base which is welded to the floor. This base was on the tested Limerick H12-P601, P603, and P661 panels. Examination of test data in panels without this base shows no appreciable difference in transmissibilities.
The base is therefore assumed rigid.1.4.7 Seismic Tests on Limerick H12-P603 Console Console H12-P603 was subjected to front-back/vertical dual axis OBE and SSE tests and resonance search tests in all three axes. It was not subjected to dual axis side-side tests due to its width. Examination of test data for similar, but taller consoles shows no degradation of performance during any of the dual axis tests. Data obtained during side-to-side resonance search tests for this panel show amplifications on the order of 2.0. Therefore, panel mounted equipment is not expected to respond severely to dual axis excitation in this direction.
Furthermore, the capabilities of devices on this panel are 8.5 g's or greater. For the reasons of similar console tests and sufficient margins, seismic qualification in the side-side direction is valid.1A.8 Exceptions to TRS enveloping RRS Examination of the TRS and RRS in Figure 4.1 shows that the TRS does not envelope the RRS in the ranges 2.8 to 3.3 Hz and 16 to 19 Hz. Qualification is still valid according to the following rationale taken from reference 7: "The TRS for each event is generally synthesized at 1/6 octave intervals or smaller, and the final test result is compared with the RRS. Currently, there are no well defined criteria for such a comparison other than the simple recommendation that the TRS envelope the RRS. Since this may not be practical for all frequencies tested, it is recommended that no more than five points of the TRS should fall below, and these no more than 10% below, the RRS in the frequency range between one-half of the equipment fundamental frequency and the ZPA high-frequency asypmtote." 1-6 Limerick Generating Station Unit 2 C-281 MPR-3801, Revision 1 Nn* RR-1A-171 Equipment ID: 2DC661 Limerick Generating Station Unit 2 MPR-3801, Revision 1 r.nrrPnnndPnr.P Nn -RR-12-171 C-282 Equipment ID: 2DC661 Limerick Generating Station Unit 2 MPR-3801, Revision 1 f.nrr-.-nnnrlPnr.A Nn RS'- 9-1-71 C-283 Sheet 1 of 2 Status: 6) N U Seismic Walkdown Checklist (SWC)Equipment ID No. 2DD1O1 Equip.
