June 21 2007 Operational Status Indian Point Unit 2 is operating at 100 percent power and has been online for 22 days. Unit 3 is operating at 100 percent reactor power and has been on line for 50 days.
Groundwater Investigation Update Monitoring Well 67, the last well to be installed on the riverfront, should be completed by early next week. About 265 feet of the total 350 feet has been drilled. The well will be equipped with a multi-level sampler.
The evaporation tests in the IP2 transfer canal have been completed. The next phase of the inspection of the canal will begin on July with a drain down of the water and decontamination of the walls Fish samples have been collected from the Hudson River. These samples will be analyzed for gamma isotopes and Strontium-90, New York State will analyze both the flesh and bones for Sr-90. Sample will be split among the NRC, DEC and Entergy. Three locations were sampled, one near the plant and two north of Indian Point.
Test results from the three installed riverfront wells have been obtained. Trace levels (200-700 pCi/L) of tritium were found in all three wells. One well showed detectable activity for Sr-90 (.819 pCi/L vs. the minimum detectable level of.8 pCi/L). All samples were negative for Cs-1 37 and Ni-63.
Entergy to Conduct Siren Test of Exiting System Entergy Nuclear Northeast will perform a short duration test of the Indian Point emergency notification sirens on Thursday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m.
During the test, all 156 sirens wind up to full-volume during the 10-second test.
Entergy performs quarterly siren tests to ensure each siren's

operability, although Federal Emergency Management Agency guidelines require one annual full-volume test of the sirens.
The 156 sirens are located in a 10-mile emergency planning zone surrounding Indian Point, including 79 in Westchester; 51 in Rockland; 16 in Orange; 10 in Putnam County. This siren system remains the primary alert and notification system for the Indian Point Energy Center until the commissioning of the new IPEC siren system.
