OPEN ITEMS PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION LICENSE RENEWAL SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT MAY 10, 2007 The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff) and representatives of Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., held a telephone conference call on May 10, 2007, to discuss and clarify the following open items (Ols) and an Audit Item concerning the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (PNPS), safety evaluation report (SER).

01 # 4.2 Discussion: Based on the review of Licence Renewal Application (LRA) Amendment 16, the staff indicated that the response to this 01 requires amending. The applicant agreed to update the Nil Ductility Reference Temperature to calculate axial weld failure probability.

01 # 3.0.3.3.2 Discussion: Based on the review of LRA Amendment 16, the staff indicated that the response to this 0! requires amending. The applicant agreed to amend LRA commitment 45 to reflect more frequent testing of water if it continues to collect on from the torus room floor.

Audit Item #195 Discussion: Based on the discussion with the applicant, the staff indicated that the LRA should be amended to better reflect information relevant to Audit item number 195 regarding valve bodies. The applicant agreed to credit a different aging management program for small bore valve bodies.
