Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Units 2&3 2004 Annual Environmental Operating Report (Non-Radiological)

January 1, 2004 - December 31, 2004 Facility Operating License No. DPR-44, DPR-56 Docket Nos. 50-277, 50-278 Exelon Corporation

1.0 Introduction This report provides the information required by Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station Appendix B Technical Specification, from January 1, 2004, to December 31, 2004.

2.0 Special Study Programs There were no special study programs performed during 2004.

3.0 Plant Changes There were no changes to the plant or plant operations which affected the environmental impact of the facility.

4.0 Environmental Permits Obtained/Modified Approval was granted from PADEP on January 21, 2004 to amend NPDES Permit No. PA 0009733 to allow for the effluent from a pressure relief valve testing machine to be included as an approved non storm water discharge.

A limited duration Emergency Operation Permit (No. 6701505 E) was issued on March 15, 2004, from PADEP for PWS ID No. 7670905. This permit allowed for the use of a filter truck while the clarifier was out of service for maintenance.

Construction permit 6704501 was issued from PADEP on April 5, 2004, to allow for upgrades to the sodium hypochlorite injection skid used to chlorinate domestic water at the Water Treatment Plant.

A renewal was granted from PADEP on April 1, 2004, to Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station for the Title V Operating Permit 67-05020.

A limited duration Operation Permit (6704516 MA) was issued on November 9, 2004, from PADEP for PWS ID No. 7670905. This permit allows for the temporary use of reverse osmosis to produce domestic water while the polishing filters are out of service during Water Treatment Plant upgrades.
