REQUEST TO RESCHEDULE NRC INITIAL LICENSE EXAMINATION

Dear Mr. Forbes:

In a letter dated August 19, 2002, you requested that the Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator license examinations scheduled during the week of September 9, 2002, be re-scheduled to the week of October 14, 2002. You also requested that we retain and continue processing the preliminary applications submitted by your letter dated August 7, 2002.

This letter is to inform you that the NRC-administered Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator license examinations have been re-scheduled to the week of October 14, 2002, per your request. Region III will retain the submitted preliminary license applications per your request. All examination requirements contained in NUREG-1021, "Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors," Revision 8, Supplement 1, and outlined in our letter to you dated May 13, 2002, are still in effect.

If you have any questions regarding the NRCs examination procedures and guidelines, please contact Dell McNeil at 630-829-9737.

In accordance with 10 CFR Part 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
