PERRY NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT 1 - RECEIPT AND AVAILABILITY OF THE LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION

Dear Penfield:

By letter dated July 3, 3023, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML23184A081), Energy Harbor Nuclear Corp. submitted an application for license renewal of Facility Operating License No. NPF-58 for Perry Nuclear Power Plant (PNPP), Unit 1, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). We are currently performing an acceptance review for docketing in accordance with the requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.101(a)(2) (10 CFR 2.101(a)(2)) and will notify you of the results of our review. Should the NRC staff determine that the application is acceptable for docketing, the NRC staff will issue a schedule for the review, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.102(a).

For your information, we have enclosed a copy of the notice relating to your application that is being sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Vaughn Thomas as the project manager for the safety review, and Lance Rakovan as the project manager for the environmental review of your license renewal application. Please forward copies of all license renewal correspondence to Vaughn Thomas and Lance Rakovan. Scott Wall is responsible for the project management of all issues other than subsequent license renewal for PNPP.
