Inspection Sumary:

Inspection on May 15-18,1979 (Report No. 50-445/79-14; 50-446/79/14)

Areas Inspected: Routine, unannounced inspection of safety related construction activities pertaining to installation and inspection of cable tray and conduit supports, and to electrical QC inspector training.

The inspection involved twenty-eight inspector-hours by one NRC inspector.

Resul ts : No items of ncacompliance or deviations were identified.

Site Tour The IE inspector walked through the Auxiliary luilding, Spent Fuci Storage areas, and the control complex area to observe construction activities in progress.

Particular attention was given to housekeeping and storaje of in-place electrical equipment.

No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Review of Records The IE inspector reviewed the following records to determine compliance with 10 CFR 50, Appendix B; Chapters 3, 8 and 17 of the FSAR; and related electric <J construction and quality control procedures.

Observation of Work The completed cable tray supports 4066, 4067, 4881, 4882, 4883, and 4884 were inspected to determine if they complied with the G&H design drawings, and had been fabricated, installed, and inspected in accordance with the appropriate installation and quality control procedures.

was informed of a new procedure to ensure reinspection of previously inspected items that had to be removed.

During the exit interview, the licensee's repre-sentative indicated that a further control of anchor bolt torquing and positive indication of inspection or need for reinspection was under consideration.

No iteias of noncompliance or deviations were identified.

Exit Interview The IE inspector met with the licensee representatives (denoted in paragraph 1) and Mr. R. G. Taylor (NRC Resident Reactor Inspector) at the conclusion of tne inspection on May 18, 1979.

The IE inspector summarized the purpose, scope, and findings of the inspection.
