SUBJECT: REPORT NO. 50-416/87-27 Thank you for your response of February 10, 1988, to our Notice of Deviation issued on January 11, 1988, concerning activities conducted at your Grand Gulf facility.
Your response adequately discusses corrective action for the deviation.
However, your discussion of reasons for the deviation required clarification, which we obtained from M. Crawford in a telephone conversation on February 23, 1988.
He explained that the Licensing Commitment Tracking System requires that positive feedback be obtained before closing an item.
For the particular item in question, however, en incorrect due date was assigned, and, therefore, failure to meet the commitment due 6 ate was not highlighted or flagged by the system.
We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions during future inspections.
