Inspection on December 4, 13, 22 and 31,.1980 (Report No. 50-354/80-22)

Areas Inspected:

Routine unannounced inspection by two regional inspectors of the quality related procedures, specifications, equipment with observations made of the transporting, i-lif ting and setting of the Reactor, Pressure Vessel.

The inspection involved 32 inspector hours onsite by two regional based inspectors.

Results: Of the one area inspected, no iteins of noncompliance were identified.

Observations - Reactor Pressure Vessel (RPV) Installation

.

The inspector observed a portion of the activities associated with lifting

of the RPV and placement in its permanent location in the containment build-ing. The lift and placement were accomplished WQ the use of a Lampson Transi-Lift unit and were governed Dy procedure number. LUR-WP-28-12.

In addition to the above, the ir.spector reviewed QA/QC records associated with load testing of the lifting rig and setting of the RPV.
