The inspector was provided details of the occurrence during a telephone conversation with Mr. L. Roe on August 3, 1972.

Description of Particular Event or Circumstance:

A containment equipment hatch, enroute from the site to the Chicago Bridge and Iron (CB&I) facilities in Chicago, Illinois (to receive additional heat treatment) was damaged following dislodgement from a railroad flatcar as a result of severe

" bumping" during switchyard activities. The incident occurred

on, or about, June 1, 1972.

C.

Action by Licensee:

The damaged hatch was taken to CB&I for inspection and repair.

The hatch has since been repaired and returned to the site.

According to Mr. Roe, rework and inspection procedures were qualified and approved by Toledo Edison Company.
