Results:
Management of the plant security program was very good, but some areas
.
required additional management attention (Section 1.1).
Protected Area detection aids performed as required. However, the
.
accumulation of snow in the detection zones was identified as a potential problem (Section 1.2).
Installed assessment aids provide effective coverage of the detection
.
zones. Picture quality of the cameras and monitors was excellent (Section 1.3).
Instrumentation and controls technicians repaired or replaced security
.
equipment in a very timely manner. Compensatory posting was kept to a minimum because of excellent maintenance response (Section 1.4).
Security management was knowledgeable of NRC reporting requirements and
.
were effectively identifying negative trends and providing sound resolutions to prevent recurrence (Section 1.5).
Security lighting in the protected area and isolation zone was very good
.
and compensatory measures were implemented when required (Section 1.6).
The security training program was conducted in accordance with security

plans and was well documented.
Security officers were knowledgeable and professional in performing their duties (Section 1.7).
Changes to security plans did not decrease their effectiveness and were

The licensee exercised positive control over personnel and vehicles

entering the protected area. Searches for firearms, explosives, incendiary devices, and other unauthorized material was very thorough Section 2).
Summary of Insoection Findings:
Violation 298/9220-01 was closed (Section 3).
