Johnson of this office on September 7 - October 18, 1982, at the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station, Plymouth, Massachusetts, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-35 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Johnson with Mr.
C. Mathis and other members of your staff periodically during the inspection and at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I inspection report enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the in-spection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representa-tive records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you had taken to correct the violation brought to your attention in a letter dated November 25, 1981.
We have no further questions regarding the steps you took to correct Item A(2).
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. However, one activity appears to be a deviation from your commitment to the NRC contained in a letter dated January 15, 1982, concerning actions that would be taken regarding the revision of procedures relating to liquid radioactive discharges (item 81-19-01 described in Detail Paragraph 2 of the enclosed inspection report). You are requested to respond to this item; and, in preparing your response, you should follow the instructions in Appendix A.
The responses directed by this letter are not subject to the clearance pro-cedures of the Office of Management and Budget as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 96-511.
