Combined Inspection 50-289/79-07; 50-320/79-06 This refers to your letter dated October 8,1979, in response to our letter dated September 14, 1979.

Thank you for informing us of the security measures being taken regarding the area discussed in paragraph 1 of the enclosure to your letter. Your letter, however, does not mention any specific actions taken to correct the problem as described in the Notice of Violation enclosed with our letter of September 14, 1979. We stated in our letter that the Notice of Violation was being sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations.

Section 2.201 requires you to submit to this office, within twenty (20)

days of your receipt of that notice, a written statement or explanation in reply including: (1) corrective steps which have been taken by you and the results achieved; (2) corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further items of noncompliance; and (3) the date when full compliance will be achieved.

In your response to this letter please give this matter your particular attention.

In accordance with Section 2.790(d) of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, documentation of findings of your control and accounting procedures for safeguarding special nuclear materials and your facility security procedures are exempt from disclosure; therefore, the enclosure to your letter of October 8,1979 and your response to this letter will not be placed in the Public Document Room and will receive limited distribution.
