This will acknowledge receipt of a letter dated March 9,1998, signed by Mr. A. J. Cayia of your staff, in response to our letter dated February 9,1998, transmitting a.Netice of Violation associated with the identification of your staffs failure to property search a vehicle and I

implement a security compensatory measure in a timely manner, and for your staffs inadequate l use of security response personnel at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant.

We have reviewed the corrective actions for the specific violations referenced above and your staffs' analysis of why previous corrective actions for similar violations that involved vehicle search and compensatory measures activities were not totally effective. We have no further questions at this time. Your corrective actions will be examined during future inspections.
