Failure to submit 1980 Radiological Report on time.

CONDITIONS PRIOR TO OCCURRENCE:

Not Applicable DESCRIPTION OF OCCURRENCE: .

The 1980 Radiological Report was not submitted by April 1, 1981, as required by the Technical Specifications. Report was submitted to the USNRC on May 28, 1981.

DESIGNATION OF APPARENT CAUSE OF OCCURRENCE:

Personnel error. Personnel responsible for submitting the 198 0 Radiological Report failed to. submit the report on time due to an unusually heavy workload during April.

ANALYSIS OF OCCURRENCE:

Personnel responsible for submitting the report had insufficient time to extensively analyze the 1980 radiological data in depth, and as a result, the report was not submitted within 90 days of January 1 as required by Section 5.6.1.1 of the Salen Environmental Technical Specification. After all discrepencies were resolved the report was submitted to the USNRC on May 28, 1981.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

The individuals responsible for the submittal of this report have been instructed to be more diligent in resolving problems in the preparation of the radiological report to insure that it is submitted on time in the future.
