UNITED NUCLEAR REGULATORY WASHINGTON, D.C. 20555-0001 April 13, 2009 Vice President, Operations Entergy Operations, Inc. Grand Gulf Nuclear Station P.O. Box 756 Port Gibson, MS 39150 GRAND GULF NUCLEAR STATION, UNIT 1 -CORRECTION TO AMENDMENT NO. 182, SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR DIESEL GENERATOR SLOW-START TESTING (TAC NO. MD9641)

Dear Sir or Madam:

On March 4, 2009, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued Amendment No. 182 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-29 for the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station, Unit 1. The amendment consisted of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated September 11, 2008. The amendment revised several surveillance requirements (SRs) and added SR 3.8.1.21 in Technical Specification (TS) 3.8.1, "AC [alternating current] Sources -Operating," and TS 3.8.2, "AC Sources -Shutdown." An administrative error was discovered on TS page 3.8-16 of the amendment.

In order to be consistent with the format of the TSs, the criteria listed in new SR 3.8.1.21 should be labeled as "a" and "b" instead of "1" and "2." The correct formatting was included in the marked-up version of the TS page included in your application.

A copy of the corrected TS page 3.8-16 is enclosed.

If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 301-415-2296.

Sincerely, Carl F. Lyon, Project Manager Plant Licensing Branch IV Division of Operating Reactor Licensing Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket No. 50-416
