A-103.4:84.9PersonsholdingNRClicenses,butnotactivelyengagedinregularplantoperationsduetoillness,jobassiqnmentawayfromGinnaStation(whereheisunabletomaintainhislicenserequalificationparticipation),orassignmentthatdoesnotallowhimtomaintainhislicensereaualificationparticipationforaperiodoffourmonths,shallberefamili-arizedandexaminedbeforereturningtolicensedrequiredpositions.Therefamiliarizationprogramshallincludereviewof:S(1)Procedurechangeforeffectedmonths.(2)TechnicalSpecificationChangesforeffectedmonths.(3)Plantmodificationforeffectedmonths.(4)Plantrelevantincidentsforeffectedmonths.ThecompletionoftherefamiliarizationprogramshallincludewrittenandoralexaminationstodocumentthatthelicenseeisuptodateandfamiliarwiththeGinnaPlant.TheTrainingNanagershalldocumentthesatisfactorycompletionoftherefamililarizationprogramand'otifythePlantSuperintendentandNRCofthisfact.5~0SIMULATORTRAINING.Simulatortrainingmaybeusedtodemonstrateskilland/orfamiliaritywithreactivitycontrolsystemstomeettherequirementsof10CFR55,AppendixA,paragraphs3aand3b,ifthesimulatorreproducesthegeneraloperatinqcharac-'eristicsofGinnaStationandthearrangementoftheinstru-mentationandcontrolsofthesimulatorissimilar.Underthesameconditionsthesimulatormaybeusedforreactivitvmanipulationsforemergencyorabnormalconditions.5.25.3TheproceduresusedduringsimulatortrainingshallbeR.E.Ginna,OperatingandEmergencyProceduresasapplicable.UponreturnfromsimulatortrainingandpriortoperforminqlicenseddutiesatGinna,thelicensedoperatorshallbegivenanoralminiexamontheGinnacontrolboardtodemonstratefamiliaritywiththeGinnacontrols.Thisexamshallbeconductedbyalicensedindividual.5.4Theaccomplishmentofsimulatortraininqandfamiliaritydemonstrationshallbedocumented.

"I A-103.4:96.0OTHERTRAININGTECHNIQUES.6.1Alternativetrainingsuchasvideotapes,filmsandothertrainingaidsmaybeusedtosupplementclassroomlectures.Thesealternatetrainingtechniquesshallbeusedasadditionalorsuaplementaltrainingforlicensedpersonnel.Alternatetrainingtechniques.shallnotbemorethan50%oftheclassroomlecturetime.6.2Selfstudyusing,proceduresandprovidedtrainingmaterialsshouldbedocumentedbysign-off'type,sheetsorsignedstate-ments.Thistypeofmaterialmaybeusedfor:(1)EmergencyprocedurereviewtwiceeachyearforalllicensedoperatorstoassuretheyarefamiliarwiththeGinnaEmergencyProcedure.Thosenotcompletedduringclassroomlectureshouldbedoneasselfstudy.(2)Systemmodifications,whentheindividualhasnotattendedtheclassroom-lecture,maysatisfythecommittmentbyselfstudy.(3)TechnicalSpecification,whenindividualhasnotattendedtheclassroom-lecture,maysatisfythecommitmentbyselfstudy.(4)Specialinformationoranyofaboveconditionsthatrequirestimelynotificationto1icensedpersonne1maybeprovidedthroughselfstudy.7.0EVALUATION:7.17.,2Evaluationoflicensedpersonnelshallincludeexaminationatthecompletionofeachlecturetopicandonanannualbasis.Evaluationalsoincludeswrittenresortsbysuaervisorsand/ortrainingpersonnelduringactualand'simulatedoperatingconditions.TheannualexamshallcoverthemajortopicsaddressedihtheNRC,licenseexaminationandbegivenatthebeginningofeachyear.ThequestionsshallbeoftheNRCtypeandtheexamshallbedividedintosectionssimilartotheNRClicenseexam.(1)TheReactorOperatorAnnualExamwillconsistofthefollowingmajortopics:a.ReactorTheory
