INSERT FOR THE RECORD HOUSE SUBCOMMITTEE ON ENERGY AND WATER DEVEl.0PMENT MARCH 20, 1986 Insert for page 7;' On March 13, 1986, a failed pipe hanger was discovered on a line in the main steam system in Palo Verde Unit 2. On March 17, 1986, after performing analyses, the licensee reported that five other pipe hangers in the main steam, safety iniection, and main feed systems could fail. The licensee decided to add gussets to the beams that support the hangers to strengthen the hangers. This work has been completed on Unit 2 and is in progress on . Unit 1.
