Subject:

Implementation Period for Operatine License Amendments I The purpose of this letter is to request a change in the implementation period for six applications for Fermi 2 Operating License Amendments currently under review by the NRC. Each of these applications requested a time period of 60 days within which to implement a License Amendment following its approval by the NRC. As part of the assessment ofits License Amendment implementation process, the Fermi 2 staff has identified that the Fermi 2 implementation process could be improved by generally allowing a longer time period to perform implementation t.ctivities. These implementation activities typically include revising procedures, revising the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report, revising the surveillance scheduling program, and providing training to plant operators and support staff. Accordingly, future applications for License Amendments submitted by the Fermi 2 staff will typically request an implementation period of 90 days.

In order to provide for a similar 90 day implementation period for six applications l for License Amendments currently under NRC review, the Fermi 2 staffis requesting  ! i that their implementation periods also be increased to 90 days. Specifically, it is ,.I  !

requested that the following applications for License Amendments be approved by ) {!
