Site : Surry Emergency Class : Not Applicable NOTIFICATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL GOVERNMENT AGENCY "At 0830 EDT on 10/26/2020, Surry Nuclear reported a sturgeon on the trash rack, located at the low level intake of the power station. The sturgeon was confirmed to be an endangered species as of 2012 due to overfishing and being susceptible to poor water quality. The sturgeon in question was alive and transported to a safe location for release.

"At approximately 1043 EDT on 10/27/2020, Surry Power Station made verbal notifications to the following offsite agencies: the Virginia Marine Resources Commission, the National Marine Fisheries Service, the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources, and the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality.

"This event is being reported pursuant to 10 CFR 50.72(b)(2)(xi).

"The NRC Resident Inspector has been notified."

Notified the R2DO (Miller) and Endangered species group (via email).
