RESTART AUTHORIZED - FIRST UPDATE The licensee began moving control rods at 2 p.m., (EDT), August 4, 1986, to initiate startup cf Fermi 2.
Startup activities were postponed from August 1,1986, for repair of a bypass valve in the lina from the feedwater demineralizers to the condenser. During preparations for startup, the licensee discovered that the valve bonnet was cracked and leaking. The licensee also corrected a problem with the position indicators for the Main Steam Isolation Valves.
Several fuses were replaced and an indicator switch was repositioned.
The State of Michigan will be informed.
