Imposition of Civil Penalty amount of Five Thousand Dollars will be issued on or about July 13, 1988 to Texas A&M University. This action

is based on the failure to provide appropriate personnel dosimetry, proper placement of personnel dosimetry, failure to establish proper control for high h radiation areas, and failure to provide radiological instructions to personnel g working in a restricted area. These violations are of concern as they indicated the failure to exercise adequate management oversight and control of the radiation  !

protection program at the Nuclear Science Center. The escalation and mitigation {

factors set forth in the policy were considered and the civil penalty increased i 100 percent based on prior notice, multiple examples, and duration of the violations over a four month period.
