PUBLIC MEETING - PALISADES NUCLEAR PLANT

Dear Mr. Cooper:

This letter confirms the discussion between members of our staffs to have a meeting at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday, August 8, 2002, at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Region III office at 801 Warrenville Road, Suite 255, Lisle, Illinois.

As requested by your staff, the purpose of this meeting is to discuss the Palisades Excellence Plan and general activities occurring at the Palisades Nuclear Plant.

The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs document system (ADAMS).
