The Open House portion of the meeting is to provide an open forum where the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) personnel will be available to discuss agency activities and nuclear power issues with the public. During the Open House, the NRC will be available to discuss issues specific to Palisades, including Control Rod Drive Mechanism repairs, Pressurized Thermal Shock, startup and operation with foreign material within the reactor vessel, and Safety Conscious Work Environment.
The Public Meeting portion of the meeting with the licensee is to discuss the 2013 annual assessment results for Palisades Nuclear Plant. The NRCs Policy Statement, Enhancing Public Participation in NRC Meetings, effective May 28, 2002, applies to this meeting. The policy statement may be found on the NRC website, www.nrc.gov, and contains information regarding visitors and security.
