Thanks Chuck. My last update indicated URI-03-06-06 was being closed out. I don't have URI-03-06-01 listed on my matrix because when I read the inspection report, it indicated that it was still pending additional review, and not awaiting SDP, which is the criterion for making the list. If you'd like me to put it on, I will do so. Let me know.

Dan

Dan, I wanted to follow up on my previous e-mail regarding the hatch open items pending SDP.

Currently there are two URIs in the Fire Protection area which are open that will require SDP analysis.

They are:

50-366/03-06-01 URI Concerns Associated with Potential Opening of SRVs (Section 1R05.03.b) 50-366/03-06-02 URI Untimely and Unapproved Manual Operator Action for Post-Fire SSD (Section 1R.04/05.b.1)

Both of these issues deal with a vulnerability that exists in the routing of cabling associated with the SRVs at Hatch. As a result of this cable routing in certain scenarios SRVs can lift and endanger the licensee's safe shutdown. The first URI deals with the cable routing; the second deals with the licensee's manual actions taken in response to the potential vulnerability. Currently we are trying to determine if there is a credible fire scenario that could endanger the cables. The geometry of the equipment space is more involved than the models the inspectors have been provided. As a result the FP folks in HQ are running the proposed fire scenario through their more sophisticated model.

Please note that URI 03-06-06 is closed in the current report which is in routing for concurrence.

If there are any questions please let me know.
