In the Matter of the ) Docket Nos. 50-259 Tennessee Valley Authority ) 50-260 50-296 On March 11, 1983 my staff held a conference call with your staff on Browns Ferry Nuclear riant regarding IE Bulletin 82-03, " Stress Corrosion Cracking in Thick Wall, Large Diameter, Stainless Steel, Recirculation j System Piping at BWR Plants." In that call, we were requested to provide i

revised technical specifications with more stringent requirements regarding drywell leakage by March 25, 1983 We were also informed that the Browns Ferry Safety Evaluation Report for IE Bulletin 82-03 would be issued immediately with this requirement for revised technical specifications. Even though we have not yet received your SER on this matter, we are enclosing the revised technical specifications you requested. ._

l l In accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR Part 170.22, we have determined this proposed amendment to be Class II for unit 1 and Class I for units 2 and 3 These classifications are based on the facts that the proposed amendment is an administrative change.that has no safety significance for unit 1, and the' proposed amendments for units 2 and 3 f are duplicates of the unit 1 proposed amendment. The remittance for

$2,000 ($1,200 for unit 1 and $800 for units 2 and 3) is being wired to.
