ATTACHMENTAInresponseRG&Ecommittedto1)evaluate/test,thedieselgeneratorcoolerperformanceanddeterminetheoptimumflow[R01958];2)enhancetheanalyticalmodelingandcapabilityoftheexistinghydraulicmodelsothatananalyticalbasisandtestspecificationforthere-balanceoftheSWSisavailablepriortothe1993refuelingoutage[R01959];and3)conducttestingasrequiredduringthe1993outagetoconfirmtheanalyticalresultsoftheenhancedmodelandtosetoptimalflows"foreachSWcoolersothat.theSWSflowbalancewillbeoptimizedwhentheplantreturnstopowerfollowing"the1993outage.[R01960]Inalett~~,Reference,(d),RG&Eindicatedthattheexistingservicewaters'st:emflowbalancetotheemergencydieselgeneratorcoolerswassatisfactoryandthatnochangewaswarrantedatthistime,however,theoverallSWSflowbalancecontinues;.tobeplannedforthe1993outage.Inaddition,byReference(e)RG&Ecommittedtoperformpilotthermalperformancetestingofthedieselgeneratorcoolersduringthesummerof1992basedupontheexistingsysteminstrumentation[R02438],evaluatetheseresults[R02440],andcommenceperiodicthermalperformancetestingduringthesummerof1993tocoincidewiththehighestlakewatertemperatures[R02439].The'pilottestinghasbeencompletedandtheresultsarebeingreviewedbyengineeringandplantstaff.Page-7
