MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC MEETING - ST. LUCIE NUCLEAR PLANT - UNIT 1 DOCKET NO. 50-335
Dear Mr. Nazar:
This letter is to inform you of a Category 1 public meeting which has been scheduled for November 9, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST). The enclosed meeting notice provides additional details. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed corrective actions to address the two white performance indicators which resulted in the performance at St. Lucie Unit 1 being in the Degraded Cornerstone Column of the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix. The NRC conducted a supplemental inspection in accordance with Inspection Procedure 95002, Supplemental Inspection for One Degraded Cornerstone or Any Three White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area," during the week of October 8, 2012, and the results of the inspection will be briefly discussed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRCs Agencywide Document Access and Management System (ADAMS). LUCIE NUCLEAR STATION - UNIT 1 DOCKETS: 50-335 DATE & TIME: Friday, November 9, 2012, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., EST LOCATION: Port St. Lucie Civic Center 9221 SE Civic Center Place Port St. Lucie, FL 34952 PURPOSE: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) will meet with Florida Power and Light Company to discuss proposed corrective actions to address the two white performance indicators which resulted in the performance at St. Lucie Unit 1 being in the Degraded Cornerstone Column of the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix. The NRC conducted an inspection in accordance with Inspection Procedure 95002, Supplemental Inspection for One Degraded Cornerstone or Any Three White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area," during the week of October 8, 2012, and the results of the inspection will be briefly discussed.
CATEGORY: This is a Category 1 meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.
