- APRIL 14, 2008 - CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC MEETING - VIRGIL C. SUMMER NUCLEAR STATION, DOCKET NO.

Dear Mr. Archie:

This refers to the Category 1 public meeting conducted at your request in the Region II Office on April 14, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. The meetings purpose was to discuss planned activities for the Spring refueling outage at your Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station. Enclosed is a list of attendees and the presentation handout. At your request, two pages from the enclosed presentation were deleted due to containing proprietary information.

It is our opinion that this meeting was beneficial, in that, it provided the NRC staff with an understanding of your focus goals for refueling outage 17 and the measures you have put into place based upon lessons learned. In addition, the discussion on new plant construction and your plan to address separation between the under construction unit and the operating unit was informative.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter and its enclosures will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS).
