MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT - CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC MEETING - ST. LUCIE NUCLEAR PLANT - UNIT 1 DOCKET NO. 50-335

Dear Mr. Nazar:

This letter is to inform you of a Category 1 public meeting which has been scheduled for November 9, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., Eastern Standard Time (EST). The enclosed meeting notice provides additional details. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss proposed corrective actions to address the two white performance indicators which resulted in the

performance at St. Lucie Unit 1 being in the Degraded Cornerstone Column of the NRC Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix. The NRC conducted a supplemental inspection in accordance with Inspection Procedure 95002, "Supplemental Inspection for One Degraded Cornerstone or Any Three White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area," during the week of October 8, 2012, and the results of the inspection will be briefly discussed.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be made available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's Agencywide Document Access and Management Syst em (ADAMS).
