The Monroe County (Michigan) Board of Commissioners adopted a resolution on July 8, 1986, requesting Congressman John Dingell to hold hearings on the adequacy of the General Electric Mark I containment. (Fermi 2, which is located in Monroe Cour.ty, utilizes a Mark 1 containment.) The resolution was adopted by a 5 to 3 vote.
The Board of Commissioner's action followed a presentation by representatives of the Safe Energy Coalition of Michigan.
