NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC (NEDA) submitted a License Amendment Request for the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) pursuant to 10 CFR 50 .90 (Reference 1). Subsequently, the DAEC Emergency Plan was revised in accordance with 10 CFR 50.54(q). Reference 2 summarized and incorporated the revisions into Attachments 2 and 3 of the License Amendment Request. The purpose of this letter is to reflect the revisions in Table 1 of Attachment 1 of the License Amendment Request. to this letter provides an updated table that replaces, in its entirety, Table 1 in Attachment 1 of the License Amendment Request. The remainder of Attachment 1 of the License Amendment Request was not affected by these DAEC Emergency Plan changes, and therefore, is not included in this submittal.

In 2019, NEDA implemented an initiative to replace the existing Joint Information Center (JIG) with a Joint Information System by integrating the NextEra Corporate JIG functions into the Site JIG functions. The NRG Staff has requested documentation that the changes have been discussed with our Emergency Preparedness partners at the state and risk-county levels. Enclosure 2 contains the requested documentation .

NG-20-0021 Page 2 of 2 These changes do not impact the Technical Evaluation or the 10 CFR 50.92 evaluation of "No Significant Hazards Consideration" previously provided in Reference 1.

In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, a copy of this letter is being forwarded to the State of Iowa designee.

NextEra Energy Duane Arnold Joint Informal/on Center (JIC) Initiative - Implementing a Joint Informal/on System (J/S)

Engagement and Concurrence with the "Initiative" Representatives from the NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC (DAEC) Emergency Preparedness Department provided a briefing to the Linn County Emergency Management Agency, the Benton County Emergency Management Agency, and the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Department (the Partners) on the DAEC proposed JIC Initiative to move to a Joint Information System by Integrating the NextEra Corporate JIC functions Into the Site JIC. This would result In Improved flow of accurate and timely Information out of the Site JIC. The Kick-off meeting was held during the DAEC, State, and Risk County Jan. 24, 2019 monthly meeting.

In put was sought Into development of the Initiative. A second meeting was held during the March 28, 2019 DAEC, State, and Risk County monthly meeting to review progress and workout logistics for the May 22, 2019 training drill (19TD2), which was used to validate the new system. On May 23, 2019 an offslte partner debrief of the 19TD2 drill was held and Issues were discussed from the validation drill. One Item discussed was the need to have additional PIO training.

The Partners were In agreement of the proposed JIC Initiative, knew about the proposed changes resulting from the Initiative, participated In the May 22, 2020 validation drill of the Initiative, and debriefed the drill.
