Registration of Independent Spent Fuel Installation Storage Casks In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 72.212, "Conditions of general license issued under §72.21 O," paragraph (b)(2), NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC (NEDA) is submitting the registration for the use of two spent fuel storage casks under the general license to store spent fuel at the Duane Arnold Energy Center (DAEC) Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation.
The in-service date of the first cask listed below to store spent fuel occurred on July 16, 2020. The registration of one additional cask, which was placed in service on July 23, 2020, is also being submitted with this report. This registration is required to be submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRG) within 30 days of initial use.
Accordingly, this registration is due to the NRG by August 15, 2020, in accordance with 10 CFR 72.212.
